War Mode has arrived

PresidentOnline: GO is now played on the front line as well as at the ballot box. With ancient cities, land and sea fronts, armies and militias, you shape the balance of power on the map.

  • Ancient cities: From Athens to Sparta, from Troy to Rome; cities are grouped into blocks, and travel times depend on the distance between blocks.
  • 29 unit types: Train 12 land, 5 air and 12 naval units in the barracks, hangar and naval yard.
  • Land and sea fronts: Land and naval wars are fought on separate fronts in 10-minute rounds, and every round can be watched on the battlefield.
  • Formation: The city's Warden sets the front line, flanks, artillery and air cover; an empty flank leaves the front exposed.
  • Walls: Walls fall when their health runs out and fire every round; higher wall levels mean more health and firepower.
  • Invasion, blockade, liberation: 25% of an occupied city's income flows to the occupier; ports can be blockaded and a fallen city can be won back with a liberation war.
  • Militia: Build your own militia; move it to your city in 30 minutes, send it to other cities or back your side in wars.
  • Intelligence and diplomacy: The Intelligence Chief spies on rival cities, and cities can form defensive alliances. In war, the enemy's reserves stay hidden.
  • City government: The city's decider picks the form of government (Democratic, Semi-Democratic, One-Man) and appoints the Governor; unpaid troops desert.
  • Tied to politics: General points earned in war count toward your party's Game General race, and serving as Governor or Warden adds weight to your vote.
  • Front Line: The war correspondent in the media feed reports major wars as they happen.

General Assembly hall and new war balance

The Assembly moved into its new General Assembly hall, and walls and air forces were rebalanced on the battlefield.

  • General Assembly hall: The Assembly now has hall, map and list views, plus a party assembly report and an appointments list.
  • Wall health: Walls now fall by losing health rather than over time; they fire every round and hit the air force when no ground target is left. A health bar is shown on the battlefield.
  • Air victory: A war won with the air force alone ends without occupying the city.
  • Election results: The results window shows alliance vote weight and party media vote badges.
  • Economy: A Recent Economic Crises block and a card showing who is responsible for a crisis were added.
  • Look and feel: Day-night 2D scenes and smoother game screens.

One chat feed, loan guarantors and the Audit Board

Chat and media merged into a single feed, loans now require a guarantor, and the Game President can form an Audit Board.

  • One feed and Translate: Global chat and media share one feed; an AI-powered Translate button makes messages in other languages readable.
  • Translatable announcements: Announcements and bills can be translated too.
  • Guarantors: Loans are taken with a guarantor; a guarantor picker and a pending request card were added.
  • Audit Board: The Game President appoints 4 auditors; when an inspection is missed, the auditor gets a window to save the day.
  • Profile counter: Profiles show how many times they have been viewed.
